Tech/Engineering - Metallurgy / Casting / Tube specifications
French term or phrase: crochète
In a table of specifications for steel tubes. For info, the tubes are very large, measuring 6 to 14 m in length and 140 to 340 mm in diameter.

"Rectitude - flèche admissible sur le tube. Flèche maximale (e/L)max = 0.20%

Rectitude - crochète admissible. Crochète max. = 4 mm sur 1.5 m en extrémité de tube"

I suspect that this might mean deflection at the end of the tube as opposed to deflection (or sag) in the centre of the tube (flèche). Can anyone confirm, please?

bend/deflection
Explanation:
STRAIGHTNESS = ADMISSIBLE BEND. As 4mm on 1.5 metre is at end it can be termed as deflection or a bend towards end.

Thanks for your input. I feel that "bend" is too strong when the maximum allowed is 4 mm over a length of 1.5 m
