Tech/Engineering - Metallurgy / Casting | | French term or phrase: denture d’un engrenage | I'm translating a manual for software used to control a diamond penetrator and there are a couple of terms I'm not confident enough to translate well. Any help would be greatly appreciated:
La particularité, à notre connaissance unique sur le marché, de la station XX est de permettre de combiner ces 3 types de mesures en une seule opération. La station XX peut aisément contrôler la dimension géométrique et le profil de denture d’un engrenage, mesurer la microdureté à une profondeur donnée sous la surface des dents, et vérifier la taille du grain de l’acier dans sa partie non traitée. |

Forgot to add an explanation: Gear teeth are very precisely cut so as to roll over one another, rather than slide (in general). The profile therefore strongly affects wear rate, which is why they tend to be closely controlled. |
