I think "clinchage" refers to making folds in the metal sheets. I found "filleting" but am not sure this is correct.

I think you could say the process is "continuous" in the same sense that eg stitching is continuous even though each stitch is a "point". So, "pointwise continuous...."

Asker: Thanks Chris. I think in the case of our plant the "clinching" is continuous and not "point" as described in the link you sent me but will check with one of our technicians. do you thik I could use "clinching" if it is continuous?
