"Les dispositifs de l’art antérieur présentaient l’inconvénient que, lorsque le cylindre avait atteint sa course d’approche maximale, les moyens de frappe entraient en action même si l’extrémité libre de la bouterolle arrivée en bout de course n’avait rencontré aucune pièce de travail. Il en résultait alors un fonctionnement à vide non conforme à l’utilisation normale du dispositif. Ce fonctionnement anormale pouvait provoquer des dégradations du dispositif pouvant aller jusqu’a sa destruction"
