The definition of "brelage" is given in French on that seemingly legitimate website. I would bet it's a "military harness". "Rigging" nor "webbing" fit that definition, does it? -

"brelage" is "gear" in the Army. I'm not sure about "rigging", which reminds me of equipment aboard a ship (Navy). Never heard it used to mean "gear" (not in the US military anyways).

You want the "gear" to blend in with "DCU".

"sur" would be "against", or possibly "over"; that is, if I correctly understand the context.

"brelage" IS NOT "GEAR" No need to disagree with me.

brelage is a special harness used in the military. But, I'm not sure what that would be.

For me, while "webbing" is the strips of woven fabric used to make belts and harnesses, by extension it also covers all the things (ammunition pouches, water bottles, sidearms, etc.) a soldier can carry into combat.

This is confirmed:
