Military / Defense / Translation of contract/tender
French term or phrase: Acte d'Engagement
ARTICLE 1 - DOCUMENTS CONTRACTUELS
Le marché est régi par les documents ci-après dans l'ordre de priorité décroissante :
1.1. L'acte d'engagement du lot concerné et son annexe n° 1, signé par les représentants de la
personne publique et du titulaire.

Any ideas whether "Agreement" (which seems to be used by the Cyprus MOD) suffices? The UK MOD doesn't seem to put its standard contract and tender documents on line.

The context is a the signing of a tender with its various annexes, thus transforming it into a contract.
Thanks

For UK targets, "pledge of commitment" has overtones which set the phrase in a context of professional ethics, religious vows and so on. There is something of pledging allegiance to one's country, to a spiritual order. In a legal context, I would suggest that it might not be the best solution ... a number of options are possible, mine is one of many. It might have been a good idea to wait and see what other suggestions came forward!
