French to English translations [PRO] Tech/Engineering - Military / Defense / helicopters
French term or phrase:stock hors lot nul
This phrase occurs as "SITUATION LOGISTIQUE : STOCK HORS LOT NUL" under the heading SITUATION DES MATERIELS, and refers to a fault in a helicopter gas turbine engine. This may, or may not, be a standard phrase in military or logistical terminology, but it's not clear exactly what it means. "Lot nul" could possibly mean U/S or SNAFU or similar, but why HORS lot nul?
Any ideas?
I think that they might be "zero non-serialized stock"
stock = stock
hors lot = non-serialized
nul = zero
Non-serialized Inventory
Non-serialized inventory items are small parts that are generally indistinguishable from one another. Items received from different vendors are assumed to be interchangeable for filling any inventory part request. Non-serialized items can be sold and tracked in fractional quantities up to the nearest millionth of a part (i.e.: 43.3082 widgets). Note, however, that while you can use any vendor's product for a given job, the cost of these items may vary depending on the item's vendor.
However, a lot that has not been accepted is also "nul", as well as a lot pending rework is ! "Useless" can carry the meaning and be more vague and appropriate in the sense of an inventory.
Just some thoughts !
