Explanation:
how's that? it keeps the general meaning, rythm and 'feel' of the sentence, I think.
BTW: flying as in 'time flies'... I didnt' use 'unfolding' because it's not 'se déroule', but simply 'déroule'.
wriggling: as in to wriggle your way out, to try to get out of something, which is the general meaning of 'se défiler'.
