broadcasting/news media Explanation: news media can also include printed materials -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 46 mins (2006-09-06 13:23:04 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- "Links to national and local *news media*, including broadcast, internet, press agencies, newspapers and magazines." www.abyznewslinks.com/ "The news media refers to the section of the mass media that focuses on presenting current news to the public. These include print media (newspapers, magazines); broadcast media (radio stations, television stations, television networks), and increasingly Internet-based media (World Wide Web pages, weblogs)." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/News_media -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 1 hr (2006-09-06 13:37:40 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- In view of your clarification, I think the best choice would be simply "the broadcasters". But you had already considered and dismissed the term. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 1 hr (2006-09-06 13:38:33 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Or "distributors" - but they don't play the music, they sell it. |

performers/performing Explanation: Based, SP, on your note, this is A word you want to use - what putteth the P in ASCAP. What word you put with it (to replace 'organisms') is unclear to me - maybe a laundry list (orchestras, bands, groups, individual artists), maybe with the word "performing" + that short list, maybe 'formations' (which I don't much like) or even organizations (tho that doesn't sound very musical). -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 3 hrs (2006-09-06 16:26:03 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Is the original composer trying to prevent something, like sampling? |
