French to English translations [PRO]
Art/Literary - Music / musique concrète
French term or phrase: sons itératifs intégrés en grains, puis en tenues lisses
Desribing Schaeffer's first usage of synthesized sound sources in Trièdre fertile from 1975.

"La façon dont Schaeffer utilise la synthèse est tout à fait concrète. Ce qu’elle lui permet de nouveau, ce sont des objets allongés et tenus — plus difficiles à obtenir et façonner à partir des sons microphoniques. Il y est également beaucoup fait usage de processus de variations : on entend, par exemple, à plusieurs reprises, des transformations continues de sons itératifs intégrés en grains, puis en tenues lisses."
