(record) producer
Explanation:
I think you might be able to simply translate this as "(record) producer" in this context.

A few links about what the "producteur phonographique" does:
http://www.touspourlamusique.org/ressources/fiches-pratiques...
http://www.touspourlamusique.org/metiers/enregistreralbum/60...

Seems to line up pretty well with "record producer":
"A record producer is an individual working within the music industry, whose job it is to oversee and manage the recording (i.e. "production") of an artist's music. A producer has many roles that may include, but are not limited to, gathering ideas for the project, selecting songs and/or musicians, coaching the artist and musicians in the studio, controlling the recording sessions, and supervising the entire process through mixing and mastering. Producers also often take on a wider entrepreneurial role, with responsibility for the budget, schedules, and negotiations."

-> I did wonder about whether it might be deceptively simple myself...but the only thing that gave a bit of pause is the fact that this seems not to be the most common way of saying producer (cf. producteur de musique). Thanks, David!
