Glove boxes as in the things for handling stuff without actually touching it. You get them in hospitals: a box with glass walls in which there are holes to which "gloves" on the inside are attached; you put your arms in the "gloves" and handle what is in the box. For nuclear applications I imagine they are rather more complex, with thick walls, thick special-glass portholes, and probably robotic handlers or at least some mechanical system transferring hand and finger movements to the inside. |
