French to English translations [PRO]

French term or phrase: sas d'accostage
In instructions for using a fuel rod cask:

"le sas d'accostage doit être vidangé (par les tuyauteries de vidange sas de l'emballage qui ont été préalablement connectées au réseau d'effluents liquides de l'installation"

and

"Ces opérations étant réalisées, l'emballage doit être accosté de manière étanche au sas de chargement / déchargement sous la piscine."

I think I understand what it is (a sealed isolation chamber of some sort used to couple the cask to the pool/pit) but I can't find the correct term.

English translation:docking lock
Explanation:
Presumably the sas d'accostage is somehow different to the sas de chargement / déchargement of the pit to which it is nonetheless accosté.

Might it be a sas on the emballage? Prior to transferring a rod from the pit to the cask, the sas d'accostage on the emballage (which presumably will have been used previously to transfer a rod, and might contain some pit water) is drained before it/the emballage is accosté (docked) to the pit's sas de chargement / déchargement (loading/unloading/transfer lock?).

It would appear fuel rods are removed from the bottom of the pit, downwards into this container which is necessarily filled with water as a result. I'd never thought about the mechanics of rod removal from a pit.

docking chamber or docking unit

Explanation:
I think "airlock" is for air. How's this instead?

See:
"[0041] The canister 1 may be a permanent part of the device. However, the canister 1 is more likely inserted into the docking unit 40 and placed in a position such that it has a gas tight connection with the chamber 3. The device can be sold without a canister in place and canisters can be sold separately. The canister may be designed to have only enough gas to expel all of the formulation from the reservoir 4. Alternatively, the canister may have sufficient gas to expel all of the formulation from several reservoirs so that the canister can be removed from the docking chamber 40 and placed within a device with a fully charged reservoir 4."
