It's just the way to say "thank you very much" in French. The repetition of "beaucoup" at the end of the phrase is to stress the meaning. This could be conveyed in English by using the word "indeed".

i'm sure that you saw this sentence in the jeff buckley's album : "live at the Olympia",haven't you?:)
so, the meaning of this is "thank you so so much"...Jeff Buckley said this sentence 'cause he and his band were impressed by the their french gigs and Jeff loved so deeply much the "emblem of french singer": Edith Piaf...that was a kind of tribute then:)
french people love him for that too...how did you discovered Jeff Buckley's music and voice?
