French term or phrase: current rates
I am just starting out as a freelance translator and I need to know what the current charge rates are. Can anyone provide me with up-to-date information?

Explanation:
Hi Sarah,

I am going to write to you privately: I don't want ProZ to get caught in a squeeze over whether or not it is putting itself in the position of price fixing. While individuals can communicate among one another about *usual* prices, the same does not apply to businesses and institutions, who are likely to get into trouble, at least in the U.S.

However, I am pasting a link, below, for the results on a survey of translators that was done several years ago, and that is posted on an individual's Web site.

I hope your new career as a translator goes well, and that you find ProZ helpful as you get going.

Best regards,
