French term or phrase: PIRL
From a DIUO (Dossier for later intervention on work):

I think PIRL stands for "plate-forme individuelle roulante légère" but I'm not sure what the English equivalent would be.

• Intervention avec des outils à longs manches pour les zones à hauteur > 1.80m ou utilisation d’une PIRL ou nacelle élévatrice de 400kg/m² maxi

It is just a question of finding the exact equivalent on an En site :-)

This "plateforme individuelle roulante" looks remarkably like the "Sherpa" telescopic one on the last site:-)

Notes to answerer
Asker: Thank you both for your help. At the moment I've opted for "lightweight mobile platform step ladders" - bit of a mouthful but seems the best option so far.

Explanation:
I've no expertise in this field, but am just putting forward a suggestion.
GDT - 'plate-forme roulante' - 'travelling platform'
Google - 'light duty platform'
