Gymnich-type Explanation: I would translate by "Gymnich-type meetings, i.e. informal meetings of foreign ministers"... To the best of my knowledge Gymnich is the name of a place (castle?) in Germany whihc has given its name ot this kind of meeting. European abbreviations and other references |

Gymnich meetings Explanation: Gymnich meetings: See google: These are informal meetings of ministers of the European Union with very few officials or interpreters aiming to have discussions in a relaxed atmosphere without the need to reach formal decisions. It gets it's name from the first such meeting, held in Schloss Gymnich near Bonn in April 1974. |
