This is an accident report sent to a Gendarmerie in Switzerland "par le CET". CET stands for ***Centre d'engagement et de transmissions***. I will keep "CET" but wanted to give an explanation in a footnote. Not sure what "engagement" means here.

Hello,

I believe this is the equivalent in North America (lots of ghits).

Literally:

centre de transmission = communication center
centre d'engagement = coordination center (start or get the emergency activity underway)

engager = to start

C'est en janvier 1968, que le Centre d'Information et de Coordination (CIC)
fut créé, dans l'ancienne caserne de la Gendarmerie, à La Cité. Son personnel était
composé de gendarmes et d'agents de la police de sûreté. Ce centre nerveux avait
pour tâche de coordonner les divers services de la police cantonale, d'assurer l'engagement des moyens et de disposer des renseignements nécessaires à la conduite.

Le 1er juillet 1977, la mise en service d'un nouveau central téléphonique permit
de regrouper au CIC, les Services des télécommunications ou autres entités, assurant des permanences de nuit, améliorant ainsi leurs prestations au profit des intervenants.

En janvier 1987, le CIC se restructure en vue du déménagement du service au
Centre de la Blécherette et prend le nom de Centre d'Engagement et de Transmissions (CET).
