French to English translations [PRO] Other / Swiss Police Dept. | | French term or phrase: engagement | This is an accident report sent to a Gendarmerie in Switzerland "par le CET". CET stands for ***Centre d'engagement et de transmissions***. I will keep "CET" but wanted to give an explanation in a footnote. Not sure what "engagement" means here.

| | Emergency Operations Center (EOC) | Explanation: Hello,
I believe this is the equivalent in North America (lots of ghits).
Literally:
centre de transmission = communication center
centre d'engagement = coordination center (start or get the emergency activity underway)
engager = to start
I hope this helps. |
