Marketing - Other / Promotion for an event organized by a tourism agency
French term or phrase: 'rafales de râteaux'
This is a promotional text for a party being organized by a tourism agency. The context of the above phrase is the following: 'L'occasion rêvée pour parfaire ses techniques de dragues et faire ses armes avant les grandes attaques-et les rafales de râteaux-estivales'.

From my understanding 'rafale' refers to a flurry or onslaught of something, and râteaux, in colloquial language, can mean rejection after someone has made romantic advances. I wonder if anyone could suggest a way of translating this sentence so that it is appropriate to the genre of the text (promotional) and so that the language flows nicely.

red-hot flurry of cold shoulders

Explanation:
"hot" because it's summer and for the apposition with "cold". Unfortunately it does not capture the "warrior" image. "Red-hot" might evoke the image of hot lead penetrating soft flesh ... which is another metaphor we needn't go in to ...

ripostes

Explanation:
You could retain the military metaphor as far as possible here and say something like "before entering the summer fray with its flurry of (amorous) attacks and ripostes".
