Explanation:
I do not go along with "fashion forecasts". Whilst most design consultants who put trend books together would confirm that they are forecasting, some would perhaps admit to creating trends in producing these books.

These are books which are put together by marketers, publicists, style houses and design consultants in which they put forward the colours, textures, and so on which they think will be “in” for a particular future season. Many designers (clothes, lifestyle etc) will take the better ones into consideration when putting their designs together. Some are so good at it, that the best are highly-coveted books which exchange hands for a small fortune.

Here is one site where the term appears in both French and English. The translation itself has no doubt been done by a non-native English speaker, but the terminology is reliable. I recently saw a documentary on TV (France) where the word “trend book” was used also. In fact, the term "trend book" is used in English by other European countries too - in the world of fashion and design, English terms are so often transported directly.
