mechanism Explanation: In this context it sounds better to me than "operative part", as it refers to a legal kind of mechanism, and not to a machine in itself. Good luck! |

system Explanation: An alternative to "mechanism". A system can't really "expire" though... you could try something like "the current system for employee retraining (or whatever you're using)will cease to apply from June 30..." Good luck own experience |

scheme, provisions, measures Explanation: I tried to find out what "assurance conversion" was first to understand the context better. In employment & labour law contexts, "scheme" is a useful common term and describes a body of rules etc succintly - which is more than I have managed to do! Here it is! As to the fuller term " dispositif d'assurance covnersion" : - conversion insurance scheme - conversion scheme - conversion measures - conversion provisions (sounds a bit more "legal") The « assurance conversion » is a scheme provided for under national labour legislation (Code du Travail) whereby individuals who have been made redundant for economic reasons. On a practical level, I think the ASSEDIC runs the scheme through the UNEDIC, one of its offshoots. On a practical level, the provisions generally appear to be dealt with in the collective labour agreements (conventions collectives), various sectors of industry having their own specific agreement but which each have to incorporate these compulsory provisions. If I have understood things correctly, the provisions are intended to protect employees who have been made redundant for economic reasons from being cast aside and forgotten. I think it originated in the 80’s and has been extended many times since then for various periods from 1 to 3 years, one of which is due to come to an end on 30th June 2001. 1 - http://www.assedic.fr/HTM/rac/disposit/disp_ba4.htm 20 octobre 1986 : Un accord national interprofessionnel prévoit un régime d'assurance conversion en cas de licenciement économique.
