"La PI considère que c'est une note moyenne" is the answer given by a customer when asked to justify a low mark he gave regarding a question about the availability of information. Any ideas that "PI" is?

Not 100% clear from the context, but if the term "PI" refers to the customer who is answering the question, this is just an educated (?) guess: maybe it is "personne intérrogée" - this would be consistent with the feminine article "la".
