sweet pastry Explanation: Oxford-Hachette has 'pate sablée' (with the relevant accents, of course) as 'shortcrust pastry' or 'sugar crust' (US). So 'pate sucree' should just be sweet pastry ... Unless it's not that simple! HTH anyway Mary as above |

sweetened pastry Explanation: I submit that this would emphasize the idea of a pastry already sweet but in the preparation of which more sugar is added. Would seem to be in keeping with the past participial adjective. a surfeit of sugar |
