I would say sacriligeous rather than vulgar, though I guess it's that too, especially if you're Christian. Sacriligeous swearing is peculiar to French Canada, and while it may sound offensive to Christians it's not really extreme (Oxford-Hachette gives "damn" for "tabernacle"). "Calice" is "chalice" in English. Stringing them together makes them a bit stronger, perhaps, but they are not in the same league as the four-letter-word ones, and sacrilege may seem like a nice change of pace after sexual and excretory excess.
