André Bergeron, born in Saint-Saturnin-du-Bois, in the Charente Maritime district, came to Canada around 1666 and found work as a housekeeper in Lauzon, on the farm owned by Eustache Lambert, and later became the owner of a plot of land in Lauzon. His descendents still owned the family plot in 1909, when one of them was included in the 'Golden Book' or directory of the local nobility.
