French term or phrase: passera par ses ateliers
I don't understand the sense of this in the sentence. I originally thought it meant he handed all his workshops down to his grandson, but looking at the punctuation, it seems as if it must mean something else:

Malgré son jeune âge, sa réputation est solidement ancrée et son avis d’expert très sollicité. Il est aussi un des maître-horloger les plus fréquentés de son époque. Abraham-Louis Breguet **********passera par ses ateliers, tout comme son propre petit-fils, Louis-Frédéric Perrelet***************, qui allait devenir horloger des rois de France. Il répond à toutes les questions que lui posent ses collègues confrontés à toutes sortes de difficultés, il voit d’un seul coup d’œil tous les défauts qui entravent les réalisations de ses concurrents.
