Tech/Engineering - Paper / Paper Manufacturing | | French term or phrase: poids commercial | The above term appears in the 'Définitions' section of a document relating to recycled paper authentication and production.
"Poids commercial = poids pesé ramené à une siccité de 90%".
I'm struggling to find a correct English translation of 'poids commercial' that makes sense - 'commercial weight' I feel is too literal and makes no sense to me.
Can anyone enlighten me please?

Recovered paper and board will, in principle, be supplied with moisture of not more than the naturally occurring level. Where the moisture content is higher than 10% (of air dried weight), the ADDITIONAL WEIGHT IN EXCESS OF 10% MAY BE CLAIMED BACK - with the method of testing and sampling to be agreed between buyer and seller (as mentioned in the EN 643 Standard).

RECALCULATION OF WEIGHT has to be mentioned immediately according to the moisture content, percentage of contaminants, and/or percentage of non-conformity. Downgrading has to be mentioned. It remains the decision of the supplier to immediately take the full loading of the recovered paper volume concerned back.

I'm not sure if the term "basis weight" necessarily corresponds to "poids commercial" - but the term "basis weight" is the standard term for describing the finished weight of a particular type of paper:

The should really use "grammage" if they meant "basis weight"
