OK, well at least it helps to know that it is the right kind of key! Die-stamping seems logical enough to me, though of course, it does all depend on the exact nature of this lock-&-key system

'drop forging' sounds a bit heavy for anything as small (I assume) as a key; it would probably need to be stamped, to have a degree of precision to it...
