I imagine this is the top bit of the Trias rock formation, but I don't know what to call it. Context follows, thanking you all very kindly in advance,

(i) Le moins profond de 2 300 mètres en-dessous du fond marin ou 30 mètres en-dessous du toit du Trias dans le cas d’un puits vertical afin de tester l’accumulation d’huile lourde du Jurassique Supérieur rencontrée par le puits.

neutral  Catharine Cellier-Smart: I'm not an expert but Trias is normally Triassic in English. (Also, reference link is illegible for me).
