French term or phrase: autofocus à fil
I'm translating a manual for software used to control a diamond penetrator (for hardness image analysis) and I'm not confident enough to translate this term well. Any help would be greatly appreciated. This is refering to measurement conditions:
Autofocus :autofocus à fil/sans autofocus. Le 2e choix diminue la durée totale des mesures d’environ 4 secondes par point de mesure. Ce choix étant particulièrement important le logiciel offrira encore pendant la réalisation des mesures, la possibilité d’introduire ou d’enlever l’autofocus

agree  chris collister: Good idea! "fil" vs. "fil"! "Threaded autofocus"?

  -> Thanks Chris!

disagree  Martin Cassell: Never heard of this phrase (in general photography anyway). Your example is misleading: there should be a punctuation mark between the two unconnected statements "67mm filter thread" and "Autofocus worked fine".

  -> autofocus is rather scarce even in French. Not a single google hit...
