Material of his subjects? 10:44 Jul 7, 2009
Is the author suggesting that the aircraft itself is a "support" for the "prise de vue" (ie the original "medium" is the thing itself)? The idea of an original medium is fine in postmodern theory, rather less so in other contexts, unless I am missing something here. Does it seems strange to anyone else? When I first read the sentence, I thought the text was referring to old-fashioned photographic plates. I would have thought the original "support" was either the film or the digital impression, although I have also seen "support de prise de vue" used to mean variations on tripods for aerial shots (don't suppose his fascination for flying machines runs to an aerial camera support made from aluminium?). I am not a specialist on the question, please put me back on the right track if these remarks are wayward. |
