French to English translations [PRO]
Marketing - Photography/Imaging (& Graphic Arts) / technical characteristics for a spotting scope
French term or phrase: oculaire
From a list of technical characteristics for a spotting scope with incorporated digital camera (with a flip-up LCD screen):

(The full list is:

So far I have come up with

"XXX technology for alternating observation through the eyepiece and on the screen"

but I'm not sure if I have correctly understood the French.

Also, perhaps 'viewfinder' would be better than 'eyepiece'?

Thank you for your suggestions!

agree  Gilla Evans: Yes, definitely. I just bought a friend a spotting scope for his birthday, and had to buy a separate eyepiece. This is definitely the word used.

I have one of those. You can switch between viewfinder mode and screen mode.

In photography, a viewfinder is what the photographer looks through to compose, and in many cases to focus, the picture. Most viewfinders are separate, and suffer parallax, while the more complex single-lens reflex camera lets the viewfinder use the main optical system. Viewfinders are used in many cameras of different types: still and movie, film, analog and digital.
