One of the other terms you might investigate is "skew." Don't have a ref handy, but I can probably find one, if it would help. Or, if you have MS Paint loaded on your computer, look at the "resize" options for an image of what "skew" does.

I think you've found something useful here. I'm coming round to ' upright' for hauteur - e.g. upright jigsaw format and transverse for 'travers' - e.g. transverse jigsaw format - this makes sense with ordinary format and another list which prefixes with 'bubble'.

What about stretch? It is one of the "tools" in many photo apps, meaning that you make the photo wider, without changing other parameters.

Later in the text I have the same three terms: hauteur, travers and panoramique, each preceded by the word 'puzzle' if this helps (or does it just make matters worse?!)
