  -> EDIT: Sorry, I didn't associate your name with your proposition. Maybe the best term wasn't picked after all, but hopefully "high flux" is sufficiently unambiguous to be acceptable.

Explanation:
Since high flux implies that the concentration of X-ray photons is high (the speed of light being constant), this would equate to an "intense" X-ray beam, which I believe is a more natural EN expression.
