French term or phrase: Gratte-nuit

I'm not sure if this is the right field, but the text is about painting various vampires/monster "creatures". One of these creatures is a "Gratte-nuit". The picture shows it as being a big black dragon-like monster with sharp teeth, 6 legs, a long tail, funny antler-type things. Just wonder if there's any specific English translation for this creature? Otherwise I will probably put dragon.

Explanation:
I love the idea of this creature. Night-Claws is good, but I'm just throwing in an alternative for good measure which is more about what it does (implied in the French) rather than what it is. I can imagine it scratching at thngs in the night with claws AND antlers, or scratching at the night itself to bring on the dawn...
