French term or phrase: édition de livres

Dear Colleagues,

I had translated "édition de livres" as "editing of books" in a list of activities (alongside "production and editing of music") undertaken by a company involved in film/music production and publishing.

My client is suggesting "books editing" as a translation for "édition de livres". I would have considered "book editing" but "books editing" seems incorrect to me and so I was wondering if it could be an accepted term in the world of publishing/editing?

I would be grateful for your suggestions or links to specialized glossaries to help me identify the correct term.

Martin Cassell: since asker mentions publishing in describing the company I see no reason to assume that it means anything else; «édition» is a borderline faux ami, more often means publishing than editing.
