French term or phrase: CI
The book I am translating quotes a journalist's interview, with clarifications by the book's author in brackets. In one clarification what appears to be an abbreviation, "CI," appears:

I would assume "CI" here means something along the lines of "clarification interne" meaning "the journalist's clarification, as opposed to my own" -- is this correct?

My first instinct would be to look and see if anyone involved in this document has 'CI' as their initials ;-)
