After further research, I have concluded that this is quite simply "liaison psychiatry". I would tend to agree with JLDSF's view that "liaison psychiatry" and "consultation psychiatry" are slightly different, which is why his answer edged out a couple of others. Those who suggested "psychiatrist" must have got "psychiatre" and "psychiatrie" muddled up (the two words are extremely similar), but it's definitely the profession and not a practitioner thereof that's being referred to here. Thanks to everyone who helped out.

I wouldn't translate it, liaison being incorporated to this type of terms. It is the psychiatrist that receives and evaluates a patient and then does what is called the " derivation" to the specialist/treatment that he considers most appropiate.-
