Don't care about the points, but the reason why the chosen answer isn't quite right is because the its register is too different from the FR. FR in so many contexts can accept so many more fioritures and fanciness than EN. Actually, behind the FR is a subtle idea of "livraison" and having to merit it; the chosen answer, given that it's EN, puts too much emphasis on this. In fact for an ordinary EN reader not familiar with FR idioms of thought the idea of a town "not revealing itself" is too close to absurdity. I have seen this sort of Frenchified EN so many times. And finally, "livrer" is not the same as "dévoiler"... the idea of female surrender has to be conveyed, and in a way that works in EN! |
