French term or phrase: la grille d'explication
Sentence: "La parole dénoue un malaise diffus et ce d'autant plus que la grille d'explication proposée identifie à la fois l'origine et les mécanismes: la maltraitance est le produit d'un individu pervers qui capte sa proie dans ses rets."

I understand that "la grille d'explication" is literally being used, for example, for the layout of a crochet pattern. It is metaphorically used as in "la grille d'explication Marxiste" - referring to some kind of explanatory grid, framework...
Would "explanatory approach" suffice, as in the entry below?
