French to English translations [PRO] Medical - Psychology / counselling skills | | French term or phrase: Reformulation dramatisante | I have three types of rephrasing techniques that are being recommended for doctors talking to their patients;
they are Reformulation miroir Reformulation interpretative and Reformulation dramatisante. I am considering Mirroring and Interpreting but am less sure about Dramatising.... could anyone advise please?
Many thanks. |

| | dramatised rephrasing/reformulation | Explanation: You haven't given any French context, so you know more about what this involves than we do, but this seems the obvious choice. It probably means either restating the issue in exaggerated terms, or doing some kind of roleplay. |

Asker: I think you may be right, Phil; thank you. Basically where the patient says 'what 's the point of having a flu jab; I might still get flu,' the doctor replies 'Don't you don't want to protect yourself against bronchitis .... complications.. maybe ending up in hospital >>dramatising for effect.
