I know, actions speak louder than words... but how to formulate the sentence?

effectual

Explanation:
"I often find that actions I take based on my feelings are just as effectual as those I take after reflection and careful analysis."

Would I be right in thinking that this is a psychometric testing questionnaire? If so, then what the questioner is really trying to find out is whether this questionee (is that a real word?) tends to make decisions based on his/her feelings or on intellectual reasoning/judgment. In that case, the actual word you use to translate 'retentissantes' is not as vitally important as it might otherwise be.

My reasoning here is that retentissant = resounding = resonant = has an effect that spreads outwards = effectual (as opposed to effective).

I may be totally off-track here, in which case, many apologies for rambling on at length.
