French term or phrase:relevé de prix
Hello,
The context is someone going round a shop and noting down all competitor's prices for products. The way it is used in the sentence is something along the lines of "you should carry out a 'relevé de prix' once a month on three competing brands". I was thinking of using "price survey" but just wanted to know if anyone has a more precise term for this?
Thanks for any help!
Not a bad idea. The survey thing bugs me because it does seem to have a connotation of questionning people. It comes up in a powerpoint file without sentences so I don't want people to get the wrong end of the stick.
Many thanks!
is what I would go for. It was proposed by solarstone in an agree commet to Rob.

price survey
Explanation: You said it yourself, and personally I can't think of a better alternative. While the term is arguably ambiguous – "survey" might imply asking respondents for information, which is not the case here – the context appears to make it sufficiently clear what kind of survey this is.
