French to English translations [PRO]

French term or phrase: la file

Good morning,

Another query related to supermarkets. This time it's about the decision-making process at Super U:

"Toute décision est instruite par un permanent, cautionnée par son binôme adhérent, et validé *en file* (selon le sujet, en région ou au national)"

"L'adhérent binôme s'engage à consacrer au moins 30 jours par an à ces tâches d'intérêt commun pour le groupement, et à être exemplaire dans l'application des décisions *de la file*"

Do you have any idea what this 'file' might be? My instant reaction given the supermarket context was the literal translation 'queue', but that doesn't really make sense. It seems to be some kind of decision-making group or body, but I'm not sure. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

That's how I read it

en file = in proper sequence/order = in turn?

They say "décisions de la file", which seems to be "decisions lined-up" (to be made in a certain order at at certain date).

Explanation:
There is a horrendous amount of abbreviations and acronyms used in supermarket parlance. They hardly ever say a whole word - they abbreviate to the first syllable. which is why I think "file" might be an abbreviation for "filiale" - so subsidiary or branch. I wouldn't guess at this though as it is obviously house jargon and should be checked with the client.
