French to English translations [PRO]
Bus/Financial - Retail
French term or phrase: front de vente
This is in a GB English document describing an IT CRM system for for a drinks company supplying bars, retailers, supermarkets, etc.. In a section categorising the different types of point of sale I have the following sentence:

"• Front de vente ou hors front de vente => activation lien marque - consommateur"

The entire section is as follows:

"4.1.1 La segmentation des Points de Vente

La segmentation des points de vente est établie sur 7 niveaux, du plus haut au plus bas

• Front de vente ou hors front de vente => activation lien marque - consommateur
• Labellisation => Pour chacune de ces catégories une approche différente sera mise en place et des moyens adaptés seront déployés.
• Classification décrite dans le paragraphe suivant
• Famille : Bar Hébergement , Restaurant , VAE
• Chainé & ou non chainé
• Activités
• Services
• Statut : client fut, client bouteille, inactif, prospect, suspect"

A possible translation might be "Customer interface or no customer interface => activation of brand/consumer link

Any ideas?
TIA for your help

marketing objective/campaign

Explanation:
This answer is based on the definition provided by the Asker in a Note to Sara Freitas-Maltaverne (duplicated here as as Example sentence"), and also on the "front de vente / hors front de vente " juxtaposition in the original posting.

Example sentence(s):
  • Le Front de Vente est un regroupement des principaux PdV ou Distributeurs d’un secteur dans lequel l’activité et les actions du plan doivent être prioritairement mis en place.

Explanation:
Front de vente: façade occupée par un produit placé sur un linéaire de vente.

From your comments, though, this sounds like a beverage DISTRIBUTOR, not retailer. Anything else in your document to explain when, where, and how one of the customer touchpoints is a "front de vente"??

Is this document about MERCHANDISING? Like how the beverage distributor helps end customers (retail supermarkets, bars, etc.) merchandise the products (like through branded cooler cases at the POS, etc.?)

THAT's interesting...hummmm....

I am trying to figure out how this is different from a sales CHANNEL...is the "secteur" geographical? A sales channel would be distributors or retailers for example...but this could be a mix of different channels in a single geographical area? Maybe something like priority retail and distribution targets?

Notes to answerer
Asker: Hi Sara and thanks for your quick answer. As this is a big document I haven't started translating yet, I'm reading through it first. I've just come across a definition of what the "front de vente" is: "Le Front de Vente est un regroupement des principaux PdV ou Distributeurs d’un secteur dans lequel l’activité et les actions du plan doivent être prioritairement mis en place. " So this is a different definition from the Larousse, invented by the customer.
