car customization/tuning
Explanation:
I'm pretty sure that this is a misspell of the English word "tuning" which is commonly used in French to refer to "car tuning".

Note that you might want to find another way of saying that the shoes have car designs on them, it would probably be a bit heavy just to plug this into an English sentence.

There is another word that could apply, namely "accessorization", but I don't think that it would fit in this context.

The closest that I can get is: "With their sporty looks, decorated with patterns of cars...".
This translation isn't great, because there's a shift in meaning from tuning to cars, but it's quite difficult to find something that sounds good.

neutral  Tony M: Agree with all you say, except that it might be over-translation to suggest these are actually designs of cars; they might be something simply, merely suggestice of cars, like M/M's go-faster stripes, or those 'tribal flames', etc.

-> Sure, I realize that I only actually did a small part of a work by just explaining the term and not coming up with a good translation myself.

agree  philgoddard: I think your original "car customisation/tuning" answer works fine - see the picture link in the discussion entries

-> Thanks, now the difficulty is finding a natural-sounding way of including this in a sentence... I suppose that can be left to the asker.

go-faster stripes

Explanation:
As Joshua has pointed out already, it should read "tuning".

When I was around five decades younger than I am today, it was all the rage to put 'go-faster stripes' ('transfers') on one's pedal-cycle (primitive precursor to the modern 'mountain bike').

That's about as close as I can get to the concept described in the question.

agree  Sandra Petch: If they are stripes (maybe Paula has a photo) then this is excellent.
