Explanation:
This is a literal translation, but what I believe they mean is that there is a time when a commercial forest should be harvested for maximum yield potential and (hopefully) profit. If you harvest too early, you get inferior lumber yields from trees that are too small; if you harvest too late, you don't gain anything in timber yield and quantity, plus it will be that many more years before you can replant and get another timber crop.


    I am an agricultural research specialist, forestry isn't exactly my field, hope this helps.
