I don't disagree with the the translation "experience science live." That is ok, too. "Fort de" is sometimes left untranslated in English because the idea of "fort" is clearly implicit.

Another good example would be a phrase taken from an educational field trip for primary school students: Pour eux, c'était une journée forte d'éducation. Here, you can translate that as simply "it was an educational day for the students", or you could be closer to the French and say "education-filled day for the students." It's up to you really. Both mean the same thing, more or less.

You have quite rightly pointed out that in the event of a word having been missed out, another rendering is posible. (We all know how often there are problems with an original!) However, unless there is good reason to believe that is the case - when it beomes necessary to suppose that there is an error in order to make it make sense - you have to translate the text as it.

This original does work as is.

I reckon that here is to covney the feel for the interest of the experience and not fiddle about with details. I like your own "experience science live". You have to give the end fo the sentence a nice ring to it, and your own idea does that for me!
