What the premier-division German company Sartorius doesn't know about weighing probably isn't worth knowing. Their products are simply the best. Interestingly, I read on their website: "The overview of our range of *weigh* and *load* cells will help you narrow down your selection and give you an impression of the capabilities we can offer you", so they do appear to make a distinction between a "weigh cell" and a "load cell". However, it has to be said that this is probably a translation from the German, and "load cell" is definitely more current in EN than "weigh cell".
