Explanation:
French wording is rather misleading: the moment is the force multiplied by the lever length, the source text lets the reader do the maths, giving only the values to be multiplied:

The term "heeling moment" for "moment inclinant" raises little doubt IMHO, Routledge and other reputable dictionaries clearly describe the equivalence:

"p." means "pour as a common French abbreviation, the other possible interpetation is the abbreviation of "poids", but the meaning is the same: "moment inclinant pour les gueuses" and "moment inclinant du poids des gueuses" (more correct per previous explanation) are equivalent

A "gueuse" when this is a cast iron device is a "pig iron" (Routledge again and others):

Forgot the reference of the calculation of the moment (I agree about the note for kg in lowercase, but the force should be in Newtons nevertheless, in French like in English):

Remains to be decided if "pigs" is enough or if "pig irons" is better, depending on the knowledge expected from the reader
